AS A PRIVATE PERSON Rodel was an extremely private person.   In spite of the success of his recording career, having hit songs after another, he had remained low key and reclusive.  He would rather just be alone or maybe with his dog, George, or with a few good and sincere friends than mingle in the world of showbiz glitz. I brought George with me when I flew back to Canada from the Philippines on March 1995 as a surprise gift to Rodel. After living happily with Rodel's nieces and nephews, George left peacefully due to old age. Rodel is now happily playing with George . . . in heaven!
